¡Bienvenidos a Español III!

Empezaremos el año con un repaso breve. Después, trabajaremos con los temas gramaticales listados abajo. A lo largo del año, investigaremos diferentes temas culturales y políticos, regiones y ciudades del mundo hispanohablante, la tecnología, la comida, leyendas, la inmigración, y el arte.

Class Expectations



1. Be on time and prepared with required materials (dictionary included). Your lateness to class will affect your class participation grade.

2. Use Spanish at all times. Points will be deducted from class participation for not doing so.

3. Chewing gum is discouraged. Ask before you chew!

4. Show your enthusiasm with oral participation.

5. Homework, when collected, must be on time, neat, signed and dated.

6. Students who are absent are responsible for completing the homework assigned for that day.

7. All written work must be done in pencil or black/blue pen.



Grading


Your grades will be based on:
1. Tests (30%)
2. Quizzes (20%)
3. Essays, writing assignments, oral assignments, skits, dialogues, etcetera (20%)
4. Homework (10%) Homework will be checked the day it is due. You will earn up to 3 points per day depending on the quality and degree of completion of the homework. Some days I will collect and grade the homework, and those assignments will have higher point values, which I will tell you when the homework is assigned.
  • If you are absent, you must place the homework in the designated bin including the date on it and a separate note indicating why it’s late.
  • There will be a drop in grade for each day of late homework: 1 day late = B, 2 days late = C….. after the 5th day you will automatically receive an E, but will have to hand in the assignment in order to pass the course.
